10000 Step Loop Trail opened.A large crowd participated in the Opening ceremony of the 10000 Step Loop Trail yesterday afternoon.Aunty Joy from the Wadawurrung welcomed everybody to country. It was ten years to the day that her mum welcomed everyone to the launch of Woowookarung Regional Park on August 5th 2016.Local MP Michaela Settle was introduced by Clair Purcell Regional Director for Parks Victoria. Michaela spoke about the trail being new attraction for local park users and visitors.Announced was the start of a open consultation for the design of a nearby proposed Visitor Node for the Park. Parks Victoria are seeking community feedback about facilities design, access and features of the visitor node.After supporting comments by City of Ballarat Mayor Tracey Hargreaves and Jeff Rootes FoCC President, the ribbon was cut on the new bridge and the trail was officially open.Thirty five intrepid walkers set off for the inaugural 10000 step loop trail walk.#parksvictoria #cityofballarat #woowookarung #friendsofcanadiancorridor ...
